Charles Fazzino created this artwork in 2021 as a commission for the 9/11 Memorial & Museum with the goal of preserving the visual history of the terrible events of 9/11 while at the same time, celebrating the resilience of his beloved hometown, its people, and an entire country. “I, as so many others, was permanently scarred by the events of 9/11. I have been equally amazed and inspired by all that has arisen from the ashes. My work is meant to celebrate the hope of a people and the promise of the future: Twenty Years Later.” – Charles Fazzino

It was unveiled in a special ceremony at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum on August 23, 2021 with Fazzino, NY Mets All-Star Pete Alonso, Former NY Yankee Great Bernie Williams, 9/11 Memorial & Museum President and CEO Alice Greenwald, Former Chief of NYPD Joseph Esposito, Former Commissioner NYPD Salvatore Cassano, NY Mets minority owner and former CEO Jeff Wilpon, and 9/11 Family Member Anthoula Katsimatides.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this artwork will benefit the mission of the 9/11 Memorial & Museum and each piece comes with an official 9/11 Memorial & Museum commemorative pin for framing.

Biography

Charles Fazzino, graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York City is one of the most popular and highly-collected pop artists of all time. During his more-than-thirty years as a pop artist, he has inserted his unique, detailed, vibrant, and three-dimensional style of artwork into the very fabric of popular culture. Fazzino’s artworks are exhibited in hundreds of museums and galleries in more than twenty different countries.
